Hi Everyone,
On 1 March I’ll be taking part in a 145 kilometre fund-raising cycle from Sydney to the Southern Highlands for the Sir David Martin Foundation. It’s an awesome and really worthwhile charity that raises money for programs that assist youth in crisis. While Scouts is an extraordinary movement for the development of our youth, the Sir David Martin Foundation picks up those who missed the opportunity or fell by the wayside, often through no fault of their own. They deserve a second chance. I have created my own fundraising page here, where you can make a secure and tax deductible (has to be more than $2) donation to support my efforts in completing this tough but rewarding ride!

Where does your donation go?
Your money goes directly towards supporting young people through Triple Care Farm, an award-winning rehab program for youth struggling with addiction, homelessness and mental illness.
- $20 - buys a student's art supplies to be used during art therapy
- $30 - buys an essential toiletries pack for new students, who mostly arrive with nothing
- $100 - covers weekly accommodation costs for a student
- $300 - buys a student a Suicide Prevention Counselling session
- $1500 - buys a scholarship to help a graduate get back to work or study through provision of materials, uniforms or payment of course fees

Sir David Martin Foundation
Sir David Martin Foundation was set up in 1990 by the much loved Governor of New South Wales, Sir David Martin, four days prior to his death. The Foundation aims to realise the dream of Sir David Martin of an Australian community “where children can grow up in safety with hope and opportunity”. The Foundation raises funds for innovative and effective Mission Australia run youth crisis programs. We provide care, counselling, training and support for young people in crisis and foster community understanding of their needs and potential. With the goal to get more young people off the streets, away from unhealthy situations and into care and rehabilitation. We aim to encourage them in a new sense of self belief so that they can face the community at large without the need for drugs, crime and homelessness.
